Collaborative Practice: An Interdisciplinary Model (Level 1 - Theory and Process Training)
This program is designed for Lawyers, Mediators, Mental Health professionals, Certified Divorce Specialists, Accountants and other professionals who wish to practice Collaborative Practice: An Interdisciplinary Model. The course is divided into 2 Levels:
- Level 1 (2 days) - offers both theory and process training for those who wish to add Collaborative Practice: An Interdisciplinary Mode to their practice.
* Interdisciplinary Guest Faculty * Intensive coaching in small groups * Extensive course materials included
These 2 days of training are approved training for members of Collaborative Practice Toronto.
Objectives
- To understand the key principles of interest-based bargaining
- To acquire the communication skills necessary to model constructive problem solving
- To understand the differences between Collaborative Practice: An Interdisciplinary Model and other dispute resolution alternatives
- To acquire sufficient knowledge about the professional and ethical requirements that distinguish this type of practice
- To learn the typical steps in a Collaborative Practice: An Interdisciplinary Model case
- To understand the roles of various professionals in the Interdisciplinary Model
- To gain preliminary skills in initiating a Collaborative Practice: An Interdisciplinary Model file
Methodology
The material is taught through short lectures, demonstrations, role-plays, case studies and group discussions. Intensive coaching is provided during small group role plays.
