This program is designed for Lawyers, Mediators, Mental Health professionals, Certified Divorce Specialists, Accountants and other professionals who wish to practice Collaborative Practice: An Interdisciplinary Model. The course is divided into 2 Levels:

These 3 days of training are approved training for members of Collaborative Practice Toronto.
Objectives
- To practice the communication skills necessary to manage difficult conversations
- To practice the various steps in an interest-based Collaborative Law Model
- To learn when and how to partner with other professionals to assist the Collaborative Team, including the "rules of engagement"
- To screen for appropriateness, including power imbalances and domestic violence
- To develop strategies for dealing with impasses
- To draft documents to maintain collaborative communication
- To anticipate and avoid ethical dilemmas
- To become familiar with several models of Collaborative practice
Methodology
This course follows a comprehensive case from beginning to completion with short lectures, demonstrations, role-plays, and intensive coaching feedback. Participants will role-play the various steps in a collaborative case and then draft an agreement following the Collaborative Model. <strong>The small group intensive coaching is provided to enhance the learning experience and is probably the most valuable learning opportunity.
